In RPG Maker XP, you want the text to look as if the music can be used to test Sound preview, Tool Menu -> Sound Test
On the dialog you can adjust the BGM, BGS, ME, SE
In volume, you can adjust the volume and, in the editing Pitch Pitch
You may also be aromatic less music in the folder Audio: more music but fascinating and remove unnecessary files to reduce the size of the game when it was published,
